Pole dancing offers many fitness and health benefits. You tone up. You get stronger. You get more flexible because you're dancing. As a cardiovascular exercise, pole dancing increases the heart rate to a healthy level and so increases overall fitness.

When you perform pole tricks you're holding your body weight up on the pole and you're spinning round, so that takes a lot of upper body strength. Stamina is improved over time and lean muscles develop, creating the toned dancers body.

Exercise through dance has shown to increase well being through release of endorphins from the brain. Apart from being a fun activity, research suggests that young adults who participate in a healthy fitness regime are less likely to develop diseases such as; heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure and diabetes in later life.

Regular exercise such as pole dancing can improve lifestyle as well as improving health, some of which include; increased levels of HDL ‘good’ cholesterol, lowering raised blood pressure, boosting your immune system and improving your mood by reducing anxiety which can be caused by stress and lead to depression.
