Hometown: Oxford
How long have you been dancing: Since I can remember! My mother assures me I used to beg her to let me sing and dance for anyone who visited our house when I was a kid.
What do you love most about dancing: The freedom of being able to throw yourself completely into the music, and how much it can help build confidence.
Why did you started teaching dance: I knew how happy dance made me feel, and I wanted to help other people develop a love for it too.
Why you love teaching at Polestars: Polestars is all about fun – All of the courses and parties have an amazing atmosphere!
Fave song to burlesque dance to: Fever, originally by Peggy Lee – so classically sexy!
Best dancing experience: Performing on a West End stage for the first time – It was unbelievable!
Best teaching moment: Seeing the huge grins on my students’ faces when they got a standing ovation after a routine.
Most embarrassing teaching moment: I got a bit over-excited flinging myself to the floor in front of a class of students and my trousers ripped completely apart at the crotch. Not the best first impression!
Most embarrassing burlesque moment: Close to the start of a performance routine, I was supposed to walk down a set of steps. However I only got one step down before tripping and falling flat on my face. Thankfully there weren’t many more steps to fall down – I went very red though!
Fave food: Pizza from Dominos – Gotta love Buy One Get One Free eh?
Fave films: Sin City, Shaun of the Dead, Dirty Dancing, Chicago, Avatar – Too many to name!
Celebrity crush: Matthew Morrison from Glee, and secretly Phillip Schofield.
Hobbies other than dancing: Acting, directing, going to the theatre, singing, going to the pub after work on a Friday
Personal motto: If at first you don’t succeed, try again after you’ve had a glass of wine.
Where we can find you: Laughing with friends, doing very silly things, dancing like no one’s looking in the middle of a club.
