Hi Polestars,
July has been no different to any other month at HQ really; it has been full of tantrums, tiaras, cat fights and harlots, but amongst it all we have managed to get some sterling work done on your behalf.
Just some of the highlights include a viscous mugger being apprehended by the use of only a single hula hoop. Along with cleaning up the streets we have also introduced an early bird discount offer of the frankly over generous 20%. Here is a run down of what else is in this months Newsletter
Performance Page Performance Page
In recent times we have had more than our fair share of performance requests, which is understandable given the myriad of talents that adorn the Polestars family tree. With this in mind we have decided to set up a page on the website where people can get in touch and book one of our performers for parties and events. Here is a link to the magnificent vaudeville vamp Miss Tempest Rose showing just why she is so good at what she does.
Who's Jack
This coming Wednesday we are all heading down to Proud galleries in Camden for a one off event with ‘Who’s Jack’ magazine. Last month they ran a lovely feature on us and they are holding a night to celebrate themselves and invited us along. Some of our teachers will be there so if you fancy coming along here are the details.
Emma 'Hoop Girl' MaCarthy
Brixton is a lovely place but sometimes when the sun goes down its less savoury side comes out and so it did last Wednesday evening when our Hula Hoop teacher Emma McCarthy was involved in an attempted mugging. We must stress ‘attempted’ because as the mugger took flight with a stolen laptop, the brave and fearless Miss McCarthy gave chase and after repeated blows with her trusty Hoop the assailant relented and fled off into the night. As a regular reader of the newsletter we urge you; HRH Queen Elizabeth II to make Emma a Dame in the new years honurs list
20% Early Bird Discount
We are now proud to announce to a 20% discount on all our courses and tasters if booked before the 31st August. It’s a discount we quite frankly think you deserve so make the most of it while you can because we'll have to tighten our belts at some point. Hoop Competition
We had a Hula Competition last month and the winner was Angela Muddle who will be receiving a Hoop very soon and will also be attending the class starting on 15th September in Brixton. If you would like to join here there are still a very few places left so call the office.
Teacher of the month
Teacher of the month goes to Anna from London who is always first with Kit List emails and confirmation phone calls and never lets us down on any request. Well done Anna you are a shining star in an otherwise murky kit list
Staff Day Out
This month we went to the Lovebox music festival, we won’t go into the details because we can’t really remember them and as far as pictorial evidence goes we have destroyed negtives to save our blushes and keep some dignity. Grace Jones headlined and was as ever was on the cutting edge of all that is hip, trendy and ice cool when she Hula Hooped for an entire song!
